From Left to Right~ Top Row 1)Blooming 2) Tenderling 3) Warm Soul 4) Flower Mist Dew
Bottom Row 5) Cute 6) Shy Beauty 7) Well Dressed
As the winter months have set in my sister and I have found the blushes that we were wearing in the summer months have started to become too much for us. These last few weeks we have completely lost any color that we did have causing a normal blush application to look way BRIGHT once we step outside! It was something we just had to come to terms with, some blushes aren't going to work in this season. We are even having problems getting the cream blushes to look natural.:(
We do have a few solutions though~ We even picked up a bronzer for the first time!
Some of our Blushes that are still able to look natural in the winter:
1) MAC Warm Soul
2) MAC Blooming
3) MAC Shy Beauty
4) MAC Flower Mist Dew (Complete HG in this season)
5) MAC Tenderling
6)MAC Cubic
7) MAC Well Dressed - can be a bit bright on us
8)MAC Cute
AND for those blushes that we still love but have to be careful with, we find that the 187 is perfect. Having just picked this up, we have only tried it 2 times with Stark Naked and Gentle. It works great, although it is quite different than using the 116 and 129 for blush.
With the 187 brush the pigment of the blush gets very well distributed and you don't see that instant pop of color as you would with the 116 for example. That is going to take some getting used to, but one thing is for sure we can definitely count on the 187 to give us a natural application for our brighter blushes!

One Make-up artist's Trash is another Make-up artist's Treasure
Isn't it funny how different make-up artists recommendations vary? It's pretty obvious many of them love to recommend brushes because they are good for any collectors collection , and they can make a good sale on those because they aren't cheap. We have a favorite MA who takes care in the recommendations that she gives us. She always recommends things that work out for us. Recently she moved to a different location that is further away, so we don't get to see her as often. The MA who has stepped in to help us at her former location is not nearly as good with her recommendations. When we ask her questions about thing we are interested in purchasing, she is honest on what she thinks of them, but she doesn't seem to line up with things other people love.
Here are some examples:
Margin blush (frost)
Soft Ochre paint pot
Plum Foolery blush (sheertone shimmer)
She did not recommend any of the above 3 items when we asked her about them. She said that Margin blush turns out to be a lot of shimmer on the face. We were still tempted by it since one of our favorite beauty bloggers loves this blush and swears by it. We later purchased Margin and found it is beautiful for our fair skin, and isn't a ton of shimmer. Also we had been wanting Plum Foolery, but this MA said that it would make us look bruised. Usually you hear any MA say that it is possible to make any blush work with the right application. She is fair like us, so it isn't a difference of skin tone. Also she should know what works for any skin tone. We went to our favorite MA and she highly recommended Plum Foolery, so we purchased it and we love it. The final example is with Soft Ochre paint pot, she said this was for people who yellow undertones. We never did go and purchase this one yet, but with the two above examples above and how much people enjoy this paint pot on youtube we are thinking we may have to give it a try despite her thoughts on it.
In general we have found that most MAC artists are similar in what they recommend, but this is one case where an MA gives her honest opinion of items and it is very different from others. Basically now we are going to trust our first instinct when we want to try something that she doesn't recommend. It must just be a difference in style because she loves blushes like Coygirl and Pink Swoon. She likes Sheertones, and maybe doesn't like shimmer in her blush.
Anyone else find an MA who has opinions that seem to be unique to him or her?

Intro
Hello,
My sister and I have decided to start a blog because throughout the day we have many thoughts and realizations about our collection and wishes that might be interesting to others. One thing we are always doing is realizing our favorite things in our collection, as well re-discovering other things we want from previous MAC collections (things we have missed out on such as MSFs).
Here we will be posting pics of hauls, collections and other things!
